Corrections officer arrested for trafficking goods to inmates
ROCKVILLE, Ind. (WTHI) - A Wabash Valley correctional officer is on the wrong side of the law tonight, Oct. 3rd.
Last
night, Thursday, Oct. 2nd, authorities were called to the Rockville
Correctional Facility for a criminal investigation involving a
correctional officer. During that investigation authorities
found that on more than one occasion Roger Heitzman, 43, brought in
tobacco, over the counter medicines, and jewelry for female inmates. Heitzman is also accused of engaging in sexual acts with at least one female inmate. Heitzman remains behind bars tonight, Friday, Oct. 3rd, at the Parke County Jail on ten thousand dollars bond.
