October 1, 2008 DUI arrest nets chief spokesman for prison guards From Andy Furillo:
The chief spokesman for the California Correctional Peace Officers Association has been arrested in San Joaquin County on suspicion of drunken driving.
Lance Corcoran (left photo) was taken into custody Monday at 7:20 p.m. after a California Highway Patrol officer found him slumped over the wheel of his car on Eight Mile Road with the motor running, according to CHP assistant chief Mike Champion.
Corcoran, 44, was booked into the San Joaquin County jail and released the next day, Champion said. The CHP plans to submit the case today to the San Joaquin County district attorney.
CCPOA spokesman Ryan Sherman said the union, which is seeking to recall Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, would have no comment on the arrest.
